I feel much more creative away from home - and would love to go on a writing retreat. Preferably in the sunshine by the sea. Do I ask too much, I wonder? xx

What a lovely morning reward - and way of thinking of it. That train journey is so beautiful. X

"I’m a woman who prays for pockets of peace, but still gets shaken by internal storms." - I so relate to this. And I love trips to la pharmacie :) I have not been on a retreat....I love dinner conversations though. But I don't think of myself as qualified for a writing retreat! How much writing do you need to to have done? What kind of writer goes to a writing retreat usually?

I have done 2 Arvon retreats and loved them both, but I did certainly expect myself to ‘achieve’ more in the way of words on a page in the time, when actually I was so full of ideas and brain fizzing and talking and digesting the teaching that I didn’t have as much time left as I’d thought I would. I would have loved a solid week afterwards, maybe in the same place with the same people, but with open writing time to out all we’d learned to work.

Another calming read! I hope your train journey was one of the relaxing ones, not the hectic kind.

It is striking how a change of scene can help. I wrote nothing at all during my trip in May - but once I got home, I was able to solve the second half of my book, and also came up with an idea for another one that I've been developing ever since. (Plus there's always the possibility of finding a new setting for something!)

I’d never heard about RSD before, but boy do I relate to the condition! 😳

I love a retreat. Have had the opportunity to attend a Devon based one a few times and always found it helpful. These days I don’t have as much free time but try to do diy-retreats now and then over a weekend. Just changing the scenery and setting some intentions can do wonders. I hope you have a wonderful time!
