Writing Diary
From soup to books to the moon and back
Hello Team CCC! How are you doing? I just had the most WONDERFUL time with my Write Like A Reader students - I loved working with the group, and I think it was a nourishing and inspiring experience for everyone. (I can’t wait to see what these students write, there were a lot of great ideas bubbling up.)
If you’re looking for a writing course, I’m teaching an Arvon course with Wyl Menmuir at Lumb Bank in May - we’ll be covering fiction and non-fiction, and the focus is on getting started and building your confidence and enthusiasm. (At the end of the week, you’ll leave with a sense of excitement about your writing, a set of new tools and skills, and renewed confidence in yourself and your future work – and hopefully, some new friends!) You can find out more details here.
I’m delighted by the early reviews for ALL GROWN UP which has been featured as one of Penguin’s Must Reads for 2026 - and the paperback edition of Read Yourself Happy will be published at the end of February. Huge, huge thanks to everyone who has read and preordered, I’m so grateful to every single one of you, it really does make a difference.
At the moment, as I may have mentioned, I’m working on a book about writing as well as my next novel. Here’s my writing diary - which barely mentions writing at all…
