Hello gang! Here’s something I’ve never done before - I’m showing you my post! My shiny paperback copies of Limelight just arrived, and they look, to use the technical publishing term, WELL FIT! The brilliant Bekki Guyatt has designed all of my covers, and I still remember gasping when I saw this one - the way the neon popped, the Helmut Newton vibes, the slinky silk slip, and the eerie, magical pink light…

Limelight is a comedy, with a serious message. It’s a novel about being a woman in a world that gives you so many confusing, contradictory messages about your own body. It’s about desire, and being desperate to be seen. It’s about the pain that comes from trying to fit in with your own family - and working out that if you don’t accept yourself, they never will. Ellie Middleton said ‘If you loved America Ferrera’s speech in Barbie, you’ll love Daisy’s books’ - thank you Ellie, that’s exactly what I was hoping for!
