Five fab recent 'real' reads
A little bit of non-fic in my life, a little bit of memoir by my side...(come on, don't pretend like you don't get the reference)
Hello, beloved members of Team CCC, and happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. I’m quite damp - the rain has been hammering down in Margate, and nothing harshes one’s mellow like grey skies and wet socks. But there have been highlights! I’ve been beavering away (fnar) at Super Secret Non Fiction Project. I’ve been working with friend of the CCC Sheryl Garratt, and really enjoying her group coaching course - she’s inspired an upcoming newsletter on creative resistance. I recorded an episode of the How To Be Books podcast, and I loved having a conversation about writing and reading with the wonderful Suswati Basu. I finally saw The Holdovers, which was perfect. I fell in love with a very spenny skirt on the Reformation website, and I found a preloved version for literally a hundredth of the price. And I went to the dentist and blew my skirt savings on some luxury orthodontic repair. Because I’m fancy.

It’s Not A Bloody Trend, Kat Brown
I’ve mentioned it before (and you can meet her on Sunday!) - Kat Brown’s much anticipated first book is excellent - it’s smart, generous and full of relatable case studies and expert advice on the subject of adult ADHD. If you’re an overachiever and a perfectionist who has always found ‘simple’ things quite hard, this might be the book that helps you to join the dots.
